I did a quick search, and for the most part, no one knows for sure. Just lots of speculation and opinions.
Maybe we can put this to rest (or if it's been done, just point me to it. Are the oem skirts interchangable? Does the verts fit the hatches/coupe and vice versa? Is it the same part #? |

the only body parts that aren't interchangable are the rear bumper and spoilers. so my answer is also yes
the rear is a little longer on the coupes and verts than the hatch. that and the lights. -------------------- |

No wonder the rest of us have skirt shortages This post has been edited by Starcraftjunkie: Jun 16, 2007 - 12:14 AM |

I can confirm that the oem hatch/coupe sideskirts do not fit the 'vert without some modification. I bought a set of OEM hatch/coupe skirts from madmods last year for my 'vert, and in order for them to fit the 'vert, you have to remove some of the bracing on the back of the skirts. Doesn't look like it's too hard to do (mine came already done since they were on madmods' vert already). They also don't snap into the holes that are there for the stock black 'vert sideskirts - I had to screw/rivet them to the car and then cover up the screws/rivets.
The sets of skirts are both the same length (the 'vert ones come in two pieces per side, and the hatch/coupe ones come in one piece) but I haven't tried to mount the 'vert skirts on the hatch so I can't say for certain that they will fit. The good news is that the 'vert skirts are small enough to ship regular UPS, they're not oversize so shipping isn't too bad if any gets a set just to play with. I sent my 'vert oems across the country to madmods for $12 shipping with UPS. Samantha |

i'm pretty sure you just need to drill new holes since they don't mount up using the same vert holes. otherwise the length is the same (for all 6th gen models).
the process should be no more difficult than installing on a 94-95. that's just what i've read online, i never actually tried it in person. -------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |

You have to cut some of the bracing out of the underside of the skirt, the entire length, since the vert is super-reinforced along its lower edge where the skirts go. Also, the holes will not line up at all, so you do need to drill new holes. I went with just three, one in each wheelwell, and one in the middle right under the door. A little plastic putty, sanding and painting, and you can't see the screws.
The stock regular side skirts will not fit the vert without that backside channel modification. Samantha |

Just make clean tapped screws thats it. The front will fit with the OEM bolt, tap the bottom and tap the rear. doublesided tape along the side.
