I don't recommend it because of overheating..

I put mine in the glovebox. I've even seen someone put a small-but-expensive one in the armrest. If you don't have aircon there is masses of room behind the govebox (as opposed to in it as I did).

Other options are right at the top of the passenger-side dash if you don't have passenger airbag; on top of the ECU (which is just to the left (RHD) or right (LHD) of the driver's feet) if you don't have a JDM car. If you have an amp. with really small physical dimensions you could also try at the bottom of the center console (behind the cigarette lighter) or under the drivers' or passengers' seat as these are both locations Toyota themselves use. Unless you have a really cheap and really high power amp, temperature and overheating shouldn't be a problem, just lift it off the carpet a little with some acrylic spacers.

I have mine under the driver's seat and 6 disc changer under the passenger seat. This is my amp http://www.crutchfield.com/S-TscWM0YyLKG/c...sp?I=500MRVF345
The amp is a little cramped but I have NEVER had a problem with overheating.

I've got a 250W amp that runs my sub underneath the passenger seat and haven't had any problems. Much larger amps would probably have overheating problems, but for the same token larger amps like that probably wouldn't fit anyway...

One other potential problem with mounting on the floor is snow melting, for those of us who get snow. If space in the trunk is an issue the back of the back seat that faces the cargo area is always an option.

I mounted mine in the passenger side front footwell along with the AV control unit for my Alpine screen, then made a false floor to match the stock interior.
Now you see it!

Now you dont.

Carpet is a better match than it looks in the pics, makes the floor some 3 inches higher but is fine, the floor is ventilated and also cooled by the AC.

That is a really clever disguise - might have to steal that idea!
My amp is bolted onto my subwoofer box. Hoping the bass won't shake any electronics loose.

Cheers lads smile.gif
The lid sits on a bunch of 2" by 2" feet dotted around so that it supports the false floor and no pressure is applied to the amp or control unit and also allows air to circulate across the units.
