I understand where the breather and the o2 sensor goes. but what is this thing i pulled out real close to where the stock intake meets the intake manifold setup. Right now its hanging on the firewall. It's an L shaped thing that I had to pull out to get my stock intake off. Should I drill into the plastic to fit it in there? Or isnt it important?

Its' a weapon R. There was three things I had to pull out of my stock air system to put into my intake. There was the 02 sensor, the breather(to the block) and if you follow the intake towards the firewall, there was another thing i had to pull out of the stock air system real close to where the stock one ended and where the aftermarket intake meets up with the air intake system. The little L shaped elbow peice (probably about in inch big with a rubber hose going down to the bottom of the car. My car is from CA so I was wondering if this was some sort of regulator or something? (I'm from WI where we don't do emission tests. )
Anyone have any idea wtf this thing is? -------------------- i am awesome

Only cars from CA have those tubes. My car doesnt have one of those tubes. I am not sure exactly what it is for but i think it has something to do with smog/emission standards or something. I had to look it up because when i put on my intake i had an extra nipple on the underside of the intake and no hose to go to it. Right now my car is running with it open until i can get it closed.
