Just read this local newstory

LYNNWOOD, Wash. - Two drivers were arrested early Tuesday morning after they allegedly sped by a state trooper at 141 miles per hour.

State patrol spokesman Kirk Rudeen said a trooper was on Interstate 5 when a BMW 330i and a Honda Accord sped by him in the northbound lanes near the 44th Street exit.

The trooper clocked the BMW at 141 mph, Rudeen said. The Honda was behind the BMW and was keeping pace.

The trooper spotted both cars pulled over near the I-5 interchange with I-405. Rudeen said the cars stopped to let one of the BMW passengers ride in the Honda.

Both drivers, a 22-year-old man and an 18-year-old man, were arrested and booked into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of reckless driving and reckless endangerment.

so I know theres governers(sp?) on cars but even if we take ours off were not going to be able to go that fast are we? I wouldnt think an accord would be capable of 141 - if you ask me that is just way to fast for a car. Theres no need for a car to go over 100 mph on public roads EVER. theres no need for it to even go above about 85 but i think they should govern cars at 100mph

My 97 Prelude Type SH would bury the needle at its 150 mph reading when it was running well on a good day.

I highly doubt it was a stock honda considering i twas racing a BMW.

Not to mention Hondas have high redlines to begin with.

They're small lightweight cars, with the right mods they're very quick.

Actually it had a high top end speed from the very begining. By the time I had sold it I had put in new cams, cam gears, pistons, intake, JDM Type S red valve cover, Greddy exhaust, lightened flywheel. There is more engine work I just cant remember everything since I sold the car 4 years ago. Here is a link to the cardomain profile I made for it a while back. My Webpage

if hes running standalone theres no limiter, or chipped and what not, w/e the tranny is capable of is how fast it will go. at some point you need alot of power to push through all the air, theres alot of force on your car at 140mph lol.

The only mods the honda would need to make crazy top end speed is gear ratios. But I'm sure this Honda had stock gears and this top speed isnt unbelievable. It may take them a awhile to get there, but they'll do it.

the s54 tranny can do 182 mph at 8.5k in a vaccum so add in the air resistance and how much power you have to push the air and its possible to hit some high speeds lol.

i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.
