I've had my 94 celica gt since it had a 112,000 miles on it and now its up to 217,000! Still no major problems, runs great, looks good, clearn interior. I just changed my key light, climate control, and clock to red. I put the clear side markers on it. I have about 200-250 bucks to do whatever I want....the engine is completely stock.

I was wondering if anyone had any opinions. Would it be foolish to stick a short ram air intake on an engine with that many miles, or a new header? If I don't do either of the two I'll probably buy the 90-93 clear turn signal lights and a new auto knob, wiring the OD button somewhere else to make it look cool....and maybe a new red aftermarket radio. I just don't know what to do!!

Any opinions would be much appreciated!
Thanks!

With your mileage and need to mod an engine, I'd just save up for a 3sgte.

I already had maintenance done to it recently. There's nothing wrong with anything on the engine, suspension, brakes, or anything. I've pretty much babied this car and always have everything checked up on. What is a 3sgte? I don't know anything about the diff. engines I just know mine is a GT and the 2.2 L.

From reading about intakes I think I'm just going to take the bottom of the air box out....anyone know how to do it? And add a drop in K&N filter to save money. Thanks for the suggestions though!

3sgte is a 4 cylinder, 2.0 liter engine manufactured by Toyota, found in MR2 Turbo, Celica Alltrac Turbo (GT4), and Toyota Caldina GT-T and Caldina GT4. There are 3 generations (4 if you count the Caldina one as the 4th gen) producing power ranging from 180hp to 265hp. 3sgte has a very high potential due to its strength. Few bolt on mods and you will be around 300 hp. It is not uncommon to find a highly modified 3sgte in 400+ hp. Some of them made over 800hp.

You will have to remove the splash guard and then you will see a big black box which is held on by two bolts if I remember correctly. K&N panel filter sounds like a good plan

just do some more research in the forums, see if you find anything you life, it's your car so u have to make the ultimate decision. I'd throw on some tint if it isnt tinted already, cuz my interior gets crazy hot in the summer. Sound system work is always a plus.

Man, that engine sounds awesome. I bet that costs a pretty penny for cost and installation though and I wonder if its compatable w/ my transmission. I should have included I already have a system, tinted windows, and after market wheels that I love. I just was talking about getting a new head unit b/c my aftermarket unit faceplate never stays up and its annoying holding it in with a penny all the time, lol.

Thanks for the tip on taking the bottom of the box off. I'm guessing the fender is not that hard to take off? Never done it before.

Sounds like you're kinda new to all this. I'd fine someone local to help you with install and further educate you on cars.

I'm furthering my "car education" pretty well by just using this site. I've never worked on imports, I'm used to my 66 Mustang that I restored...so I would rather not do an engine swap myself, thanks for the tip though.
