My uncle does a lot of work with fiberglass, kevlar and carbon fiber. So I gave him my spark plug cover from my 20V silvertop to see what he could do with it and this is what he returned to me today:

Actually I don't know that yet. I am up in Kansas City this weekend which is where my parents and my uncle live. I am going back home(Arkansas) on sunday and will bolt it up to the valve cover then. I will take pictures of it on the car then as well.

I wonder how it will hold up to the heat... the resin might bubble a bit.

My guess is that it will be fine because my uncle makes a lot of covers and parts that go in engine bays and these are for his fellow SCCA club racing friends and those piece's hold up so I am sure he used the correct resin that will be able to hold up.

Here are a couple of shots of the cover installed. Please don't look at the nasty engine bay, and ugly valve cover and timing belt cover. I have some cheap spray can paint on the valve cover right now and place to put some real paint on it and my timing belt cover has a few cracks in it so I am going to get a good condition one and see if my uncle can either cover it or make a carbon fiber one. Anyways here are a couple of shots for you guys:

Yeah my whole garage is very dusty right now because I am doing body work on my MR2. Once I get everything painted I am going to work on getting my engine bay clean and more organized(I bought the car with the swapped motor and it was very disorganized)

Actually not all AE111's came with a 6 speed. Most came with a 5 speed.

That looks pretty damn good. Any update as to whether it is holding up to the heat? Any chance your uncle would like to make some parts for the celi? tongue.gif

I haven't even fired up the motor in a while on the car because right now I am doing bodywork and the car is in a lot of pieces right now. I am almost done getting everything done and primered and once I get it primered I am going to put it all together and drive it around for about 100 miles or so just so I can drive it. I will let you know how it holds up.
