Lol...wow...now was i busy today, i ripped all my **** from the back and made a new panel for my tire to cover the hole....

I love me some Dynamat! It's good stuff. I used 2 trunk kits for the entire back of my Celica. Are you gonna clean it first? It looks a bit dirty!

Where's the panel for your tire you made? Or are you waiting to install after the Dynamat?

I kinda cleaned it, i am unsure how to...i dont want to mess anything up...

I can get a pic of the panel....its just a 1/4 plywood a little bigger than the size as the carpet that goes over the tire... I have it lying there now, so it looks like i actually have something... Im waiting for illneversellmyceli to send me the panels i bought from him.. hopefully my dynamat will come in b4 the panels do...

the trunk stuff is expensive... and really not required, ill put a piece of it by the exhaust, so when i get a new system i wont hear the rumble... ^^

The Dynamat box says to use alcohol I think to get everything off, but I just used soap and water w/ a rag. Works fine. You just want everything off that metal so when you put the Dynamat down and roll press it on, it stays on! I love it!

Concentrate on flat panels if you dont have a big wallet. Convoluted panels generally vibrate less(higher freq) therefore mass loading is not needed. What you are doing by putting dynamat is adding weight to stop it vibrating and a little bit of sound blocking ability.

To be honest, there are cheaper products to use on the floor but dont let me stop you if you already planned it out. I dynamatted my spare tyre well and it didnt make any or much difference to road noise etc. Best places to use it is door panels, quarter panels.

Sound dampening works several ways, its been a while since i played with audio but from memory...
absorption: thick foam
mass loading: bitumen etc(that black stuff on dynamat)
blocking: that aluminium backing on dynamat

so.... you mass load a panel to stop it vibrating.(add weight to it basically). Vibration causes sound = road noise.. or you block the sound by having a barrier.... dynamat does a bit of both.

Get ready a pair of gloves and a hairdryer or heatgun and sharp raxor for the dynamat. You want to lay it down properly, the aluminium backing is razor sharp.

soooooo i guess you aren't worried about weight?
all that dynomat is going to be $$ and HEAVY

there are brush on sound deadener options available that won't weigh as much

Liquid deadeners are messy and you would really need to get it thick enough for it to be of any use.

I didn't really think it was all that heavy, and I used nearly two kits. I thought they were heavy too, but it's really not.

dynomat is very heavy considering the weight and size of our cars... spray on stuff does work well... i used a combination of eDead and eDead spray on for a perfect mate, spray on works really really well on side walls and upside down applications like the trunk lid as the dynomat can fall off for instance... in a black impala... the trunk lid gets so hot that it remelted the glue and became a ridiculous mess

i am 90% complete with sound deadening my car - i should of took pictures, before i put the carpet and headliner back in - i'll take some shoots of the trunk - i used eDead SEv1^2 - purchased 160 feet and have about 30 feet left over - only thing left is the hatchback lid -- it works great - definitely an improvement with a sound system -- under $260 to do the entire car ( floor, tunk, roof, door panels, side panels)
