hey guys im kinda a car n00b so and my A/C is no longer working (and its 100 degrees in stockton just great huh?)
so when i turn it on the lowest setting, its cold for maybe like 2 minutes but then it stops blowing cold air and its just blowing normal air. i try to turn it up a little higher but then alot of crap like dust and stuff flys out of the vents and into my eye balls. not the best thing to happen while driving. someone told me to change some kinda pump and someone else told me to pour in more liquid(forgot what it was called). i thought it'd be alot more useful if i asked you guys instead. |

if dust is blowin out then u should get ur heater/drier checked...there is a filter inside to that is supposed to keep moisture and debree out...and tha liquid u r talkin abt. is called refrigerant...i think ours is r134a. that may or may not help.

As for the AC not working, it might be shutting itself off because of a malfunction. The system is built with all sorts of smarts to know if the pressure is too high or too low or if there's a problem with the compressor etc... AC isn't something you should mess with unless you know EXACTLY what you are doing. -------------------- ----------------------6GC's FIRST V6----------------------

Yeah, if you lived closer I'd look at it for free......but you don't. Whatever you do though, do NOT just put more refrigerant in. You'll slug up your compressor which = very bad and expensive. If anything, go to a local shop and have them evacuate the system, and recharge it. And if they're competent, they'll figure out anything else that might be wrong with it.
