sorry if this is in the wrong forum.

just letting everyone know an idea i had and think im going to follow through with and see what other people think.

i am considering buying a DP (normal 3") and then coning the end to go from a 3" to a flat exhaust such as 2x4 or 2x5 or something along that order. this would give it alot flatter deeper sound because it flattens the sound decibles or wutever. im not 100% on my thinking but it would be a pretty cool sound if it turns out right, and then i would weld up my own muffler with daffles or wutever positioned opposing each other so

I----I----I----
__I___I___I
you get the idea but only tack them and listen so i can get the sound i want. this would also give me a little more ground clearance since usually exhaust is one of the lower parts on the car. let me know what you guys think of this idea. also does anyone know where i can find a DP except ebay

It really doesn't work that way. Flat/oval piping doesn't change the sound of the exhaust. Buy a good muffler and you will get the sound you want.

Oval piping is harder to work with, more expensive, and generally only used on racecars for ground clearance reasons.

PS. Burns Stainless makes nice oval piping and bends.
