there is no Toyota plant in TN..there was talk about it, but Texas got it. i believe they build the trucks. here in TN, there is, of course, the Saturn plant, and there's also a Nissan plant...not sure if there are any others here...

I think that they are reliable is because they are Japanese enginered and designed. I think that they did put part of a plant in Jackson,Tn making parts or something.

My bro has a 96 mustang with over 230k miles. And he has never replcaed anything major, just fixed little things here and there. basic maintinence. I know American cars dont last as long, but they DO last. My moms suburban just got its hinges adjusted which is the only thing that is wrong with it after hitting 200k miles.

edit: sorry to run off topic, but everyone says american cars dont last, so maybe my family just got lucky.

Well, I'm proud to say that the Toyota Camry and its Lexus counterpart are built just south of me in Georgetown, KY. It's about 15 minutes north of Lexington. Toyota Manufacturing North America's headquarters is about 5 minutes from me in Erlanger, KY. I know a lot of people who have worked at the assembly in Georgetown. There are Toyota parts suppliers all over Kentucky. My wife actually inerviewed for a job with the North America headquarters. My Nissan Altima was built in Smyrna, TN, whereever that is. KY almost got the new Hyundai assembly plant but it went to Alabama. We're actually second in automobile production to Michigan. We also have 2 Ford assembly plants in Louisville that makes the Explorers, Expeditions and a lot of trucks.
