I've got a squeaking/grinding noise coming from the front passenger side wheel. I got the wheel off, took the brakes apart and everything looks good - pads look almost brand new. When I take the pads off the squeak goes away, but when I'm driving the squeak is dependent on wheel speed and doesn't change when I hit the brakes.
It's more of a squeak than a grinding noise, definitely not the wheel bearing or cv joint.
Any ideas?

I had brake pads that took a couple thousand miles just to stop making a small noise like its rubbing...I prob should have readjusted them but the brake sound went away eventually.

i went over a year of this problem, 6 alignments in one year, 2 sets of rotors and pads, wheel balance, rotations. conclusion=bad bearing...sucky goodyear didnt do the job right, bearing was seized on hub.

Have you tried some hard braking? I've notice sometimes with new pads you have to give them a couple of hard brakes to get rid of the coating on them... that might be it...? kindasad.gif

I notice you're in Calgary - with a GTS... would you mind letting me know who you're getting your parts through?? I'm new to town and I dread taking my GTS to the "stealer"-ship.
