 Wipers Making Weird Noise |

Hey all, I'm having a problem with my wipers when I turn them on they make a grinding noise I'm not sure what it is I'm assuming its a bad wiper motor ?? I can only hear the noise from the inside of my car but can't hear anything from the wiper motor itself or outside of the car ?? If so the ST and GT share the same wiper motors right ?? I have a friend who works at a junkyard/parts store and he says if I need a replacement they have a wiper motor from a ST if it fits.
