HEy guys .. i am wondering if any of you know how to change a header gasket.. my cracked or broke.. and my engine coolant is flowing out ... first it was dripping .. but now it is actually flowing.. the repair.. will cost me about $1600.. with parts labor.. and some other bull$hit they added on ..

the question is: is it hard to change and can i do it my self if any body has a picture guide.. to show me how its done..

help is really appreciated.. thanks a lot for any comment..

Are you reffering to the headder gasket or the head gasket(the gasket sandwitched between the engine head and block).

A head gasket replacement is what it sounds like, take a look my link for my cardomain page I have some pics of when I replaced the IPB Imagehead gasket for the 7afe.

I blew the gasket on my old 7AFE when I was dragging at SAC. raceway last year. I was running 16s ! before if blew.


Replacing the head gasket is not that difficult its just quite time consumming. Get yourself a chilton repair manual and it has all the procedures.

Thanx alot juan_solid ... but .. does the head gasket has anything to do with the coolant leaking.. if it does than its the head gasket

on my invoice it says replace cylinger head gasket.. so what is it .. the one on your pics.. or something different.?
