Hi there guys,
i,ve rercently fitted a genuine momo steering wheel along with the correct momo boss kit on my jap import st205....the wheel looks and works fine but i now have a rather biggish gap around the boss/dash...and also my indicators fail to cancel out when i turn full lock.....i,ve spoken to momo and they reckon it,s normal because of the car being non uk and import model...apparently uk spec gt4,s are fine with same wheel etc??..anyone out there had similar problems?......is it something that can be fixed or do i just take it thats price to pay for owning import model!......thanks Guys any help appreciated. I've got an import GT & GT4 and they both have aftermarket steering wheel bosses but the indicators cancel fine mate.
By the gap I assume you mean the gap in the steering column housing? The GT also has a large gap between this housing and the boss, but the boss thats on the GT4 came with a collar that slides over the top and makes it wider, which hides the gap. Don't know if you can get them for momo bosses though. All I can think is if you wanted to get a bit of black plastic and make it a similar shape to the front of the housing but with a smaller hole cut in it so it masks the gap? As for the indicators, I think there should be something sticking out that knocks the indicator off as it passes (can't say for definite though as I've not taken one off before) Maybe theres something on your original one that should be put on before the new boss? |

i got this problem b4 at first i thought its a wheel alignment..took me the whole day a re-align but didnt work also..anyway its rather simple.
take off ur steering wheel & hub... you will see the indicator cancellor (its the white round thing, try to turn the signal and u will see.) and realignment it to the middle then put on ur hub and steering wheel that should fix it ![]() This post has been edited by lubu: Aug 2, 2007 - 5:56 AM -------------------- ![]() 98% completion --- aaRon |

hrms..i wouldnt think so..my friend has an gt4 and his works fine.
im not taking abt the grooves in the correct slot im talking abt the cancel dail or what ever you call it..its the white turnable thing that sits around the steering rod, when you turn the indicator and turn the wheel the indicator get cancelled if the dail sits in the correct spot otherwise you have to turn another half turn or so to cancel it.. I've got 2 different bosses and they both work fine. Send the momo boss back and get someone elses. |
