QUOTE (Chrobis @ Aug 8, 2003 - 1:33 PM)
so would it be better to go with the 4th gen? or should a celica just have a celica motor? and will most of the same aftermarket parts still fit? kuya?

Yes... it should work... I'm sure the 4th gen would be better, but since the ST246 is practically brand spanking new, it's gonna be VERY difficult trying to get a clip. Now if you try to purchase the motor brand new... OUCH... that's gotta be *at least* $8K just for the motor...

I'm sure that the same AM parts will fit...

If you just happened to have the extra 3K lying around...I think it would be worth it. Think of all the hassle you could save from not having to clean anything, the engine would be mint.

or you could put that 3k into the engine in the form of better internals/rebuild

the 4th gen 3sgte is very expensive. i have only seen one for sale on ebay and it was high up there.

it would be a cool thing to have, but why pay more for practically the same engine but with a higher CR?

Yeah, I get what you are saying. But I'm wondering if that compression ratio is correct.

most likely, thats what prolly adds the extra 3hp, but i dont know why they would want to raise the compresion on a turbo engine... makes it weaker.

I was thinking the same. Ray could probably be able to shed some light.

That's what I said...I wonder if it would be worth it to spend the extra amount.
