Updated driveby Video! 07-08-07

I put this together with a friend using the ebay CAI that everyone was getting.

Details:

I used the S Curve pipe, cut 1 inch off the end that connects to the throttle body, cut 4 inches off the other end. Used a 7 dollar 3"-2.5" hose coupler from Oreillys.

Took out the engine bay part of the stock intake, but left the rest on.

I didn't even have to lift the car. laugh.gif

edit: I was hoping for some comments on the sounds and look. I'm not sure if it should sound like that but it sounds good to me. Opinions welcome!

I think it sounds and looks awesome! I ordered an Accord CAI from eautosource too. I really want to do this setup as well. I just would rather play it safe and would rather not invest more money into getting a bypass valve for the CAI.

It says on Youtube that eautosource gave you 3in. piping ? I've heard that they send 2.5...2.75...and 3 in. so far, lol. Would diff. size pipes cause diff sound/loudness? Cause I would really like mine to sound like yours. I can't believe your car sounds that loud with stock exhaust..

If you dont have exhaust done, that intake is gonna make your car consume alot of gas. Just letting you know.

Funny thing is, it comes from the engine bay not the back of the car tongue.gif

As for the question about diff size=diff loudness, i am not really sure. I figure that a wider one would, just the same as blowing on a bottle with a small opening would produce higher pitch sounds than one with a wider opening.

To the exhaust/gas thing, I think you are right, but there was an enormous crack in my stock intake so it was either get dirt and **** in my engine or lose some gas mileage for a while...

When you say, have your exhaust done what exactly do you mean?

I was wondering though why you would use more gas by changing your intake from stock to SRI. Right now I have a big crack on my intake right now too, I had to wrap it with duct tape : /

I hope they send me the 3in. piping from eautosource then!

I plan to get catback exhaust, keeping both cats, with a magnaflow muffler as soon as I can after my intake....I want a good exhaust, but with still good emissions.

You are gonna floor your car more because you like the sound. lol. Thats what happened to me when I got my intake done. Then after a while I got used to the sound and just drove normal. But now that I have my new exhaust and hi flow cat I have started driving faster and flooring my car a lot more cause I love the sound of the new upgrades.

Possibly lesser restriction on the piping of your exhaust is what I meant. SRI was my first mod too. But I noticed a dramatic amount of gas consumption after driving it for a while possibly due to more airflow into gas chamber. So alot of 'in'haling and less 'ex'hailing my engine was doing becuz of exhaust restrictions. After I got my muffler and custom catback and header, I noticed the mpg went back to normal and also an increase of ponies. Possibly due to a balanced breathing from my engine. Some Air/Fuel stuff that some tuners might know what I'm talking about. And in Florida, we don't have emissions. wink.gif

well, from what i read, that is what i got... and when I took out the air box that is in front of the wheel, I had to lift the car so I could get under to take all the screws out and evrything.

you have to take that air box out to make a CAI so I figured that id have to lift it to make it a CAI lol...
does this even matter?
