On the night of June 21 -22, 2008, I'll be participating in a very special and powerful event in the fight to prevent suicide. It's the Out of the Darkness Overnight.

I'll walk 20 miles throughout the night with thousands of other people. The net proceeds will support the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention's programs and mission.

I've agreed to raise a minimum of $1,000 in donations. My personal goal is to raise $1,000. But I need your help. Would you please consider making a fully tax-deductible donation to help me meet my goal? You can donate cash and checks to me or go online and make a donation via my webpage. I will be collecting cash and checks through June 15, 2008.

Every minute a suicide attempt is made. Every 16 minutes a person dies from suicide. Suicide is the 11th leading cause of death and the second leading cause of death among college students. Every year, more than 30,000 people in the United States will die from suicide. That's why I'm doing this. To do something bold about an issue that so few people talk about. This is for a great cause and I know I cant be the only one on this board who has had a personal experience with suicide.

Ive almost lost someone to an attempted suicide and have had thoughts of suicide myself. Please donate what you can. $5 dollars is great!
