1. Your money would go to Charlie97L.

2. You would get your money back, but it won't fall apart, as Charlie always follows through with his group buys. He's very, very reputable and is a moderator on Celica.net, and really knows a lot and cares about the Celica community. I've bought from him before with no problems whatsoever.

3. A couple people have VIS carbon fiber hoods on their cars, and as far as I know, they're very happy with them. smile.gif

4. I thought about this too, and figured that if it did cause any problems by getting water on wires or electrical components, I could build a plastic cover that would go under the vents and re-route the water to a safe location.

5. I'm not sure on shipping to the UK. Charlie will have to answer that one. wink.gif

1) your money goes to VIS, actually. smile.gif

2) i'm honest, ask anyone. if we get to the point where we pay the money, VIS will do the job, i talked to the guy on the phone, they are more than willing to work with us, and they are a reliable company.

3) vis is quality, ask anyone who has their stuff.

4) there shouldn't be any problems with rain, if you feel the need, i'm sure some lexan and a dremel can fix that easily... but it will be a the front of the hood, so there shouldn't be any problems. not much up there. i have to put a shield over my intake, it's at the front on the turbo but i was going to do that anyway.

5) i'll check on shipping to the UK.

has ne one thought about doing the GT4 hood instead?  personally thing that the TRD look alike is cool and all but its gonna make the front of the car look kinda busy. who knows.. maybe if this GB goes through there could be a second round of one for a GT4 style

that was tried, and man, i don't think it will work. see with the TRD hood, you can modify an OEM hood, put the vents in it, it's fairly simple, they already have that.

with the gt4 hood, to get the raised middle setion, they'd have to totally fabricate a new hood, and those vents are tough to do and would have to be totally fabricated, which would be $$$$. also, you'd have the argument, do we have it match the GT4 bumper or the stock bumper. and they need a sample hood to make it, so we'd have to buy one of those too, so they could design it. it could be done, but i expect the hoods would be well upwards of 1000 each based on the labor involved.

i can enquire about this AFTER this buy goes through with the money... but please don't post about it, don't contact VIS, let's not get them confused. if you want to you can PM me about it, but let's stay focused on the TRD hood right now.

see this way, we have sweet hood, and they have all the info they need, they make a hood for us already, and they make a TRD hood for the supra. they have the hood, they have the vents, all they have to do is combine. easy.

Hehe, my bad. wink.gif I just assumed we'd send the money to you, and then you would send it to VIS yourself.

we could do that, but i don't want to be responsible for holding that much money.

i got a question too, i used to own a 5th gen and i got into 3 accidents with that, one of which totaled my car. what happens if we send the money and bad luck strikes, (knock on wood) and we get in an accident, will we be reinbursed? or what, thanks.

if that happens, and you get in an accident between when you order the hood and you get the hood, you won't get reimbursed, but i'll help you find someone to buy it.

btw, i don't know if i posted this before, but we have to pay in full for all the hoods before we start production. shipping can wait until later i do believe, but i'll check on that as well.

One last question...

Will the hood fit a UK spec 6g celica? you guys have a different engine to us so I was thinkin'... are the car bodies the same?

If the answer is yes to fitting and shippings isn't too high, then add me to the list.

Cheers

As long as your car isn't a GT-Four, then yes, this hood will fit fine. All non-GT-Four OEM hoods are the same for our cars. wink.gif

shipping for one hood to the UK is about 500. we can put 2 together for about the same price, and it may vary depending on where exactly it is going.

I think that the vents are far enough forward that water getting in there shouldn't damage anything. If it looks like a possibility though, then you could always build something fairly easily to divert the water to a safe location. wink.gif
