Don't forget the AWS 3S-GE-powered ST203. And I think Currens are the ST206 chassis code.

ok this might help got it off of toyotacelicaonline.com
HOME/REFERENCE/ Chassis Number Decoding Chassis Number The Chassis number is commonly used in the international Celica community to identify similar celicas. Confusion can arrise when referring Celicas as simply by trim number. For example, The 6th generation (round headlight) GT trim had different engines in Europe (180 HP 3S-GE) and in the USA (135 HP 5S-FE). Trim designations can also change by region. The same exact celica can be sold as a GT in the US and an SX in Australia due to different cultural perceptions. Thus the chassis is usually used to identify a celica. The Chassis number can be found on the firewall of FWD celicas. The chassis number can be loosely looked at as a four-six combination of numbers and letters. for simplicities sake, first start by looking at the chassis number as a combination of four spaces. 1 2 3 4 The first space represents the engine family located in the car. For all Toyota engines this is the first letter that appears in the engine code. 8R, 18R, 20R, 22R = R family of engines 4A-FE, 7A-FE = A family of engines 1ZZ-FE, 2ZZ-GE= ZZ family of engines The second letter designates the car as a "Celica". The letter will either be the letter "T" for FWD Celicas or "A" for RWD Celicas. The third letter represents the generation of Celica. These are either a 1-digit (RWD) or 2-digit number (FWD). Generation Generation Code 1 2 2 4 3 6 4 16 5 18 6 20 7 23 The fourth space represents the various types of celicas that are available in each body style. this is a combination of different engines, suspension and steering available in each particular celica. Usually, there are anywhere from 2-6 celicas made at any one bodystyle. Using the 6th generation Celica as an example: 0 = FWD, 7A-FE (US-ST Trim) 2 = FWD, 3S-GE (Europe GT Trim) 3 = FWD, 4WS, 3S-GE (Japan GT-R Trim) 4 = FWD, 5S-FE (US GT Trim) 5 = 4WD, 3S-GTE (Europe/Japan GT-4) Thus looking at various chassis codes.... 1 2 3 4 RA24 = R A 2 4 = R- series engine, Celica, 1st Generation, 4- style AT200 =A T 20 0 = A- series engine, Celica, 6th Generation, 0-style ST204 =S T 20 4 = S- series engine, Celica, 6th Generation, 4-style ZZT230 =ZZ T 23 0 = ZZ- series engine, Celica, 7th Generation, 0-style -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The ideas, images, modifications, or anything else detailed on this website are not in any way endorsed or supported by Toyota USA. © 2001 Toyota Celica Message Board Disclaimer Contact Logo:©2001 Mascotgraphics -------------------- |

A 204 isn't a GT hatch, my convertible is a 204 and it is built of a coupe.

But a ST204 can be a hatch. Any sixth generation Celica with the 5S-FE engine or that had a 5S-FE engine is an ST204. -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...
