Hi guys im wondering about the difference between the 3rd gen 3sgte motor and the second gen 3sgte motor...

And can i use an alltrac st185 gearbox in an st205 with a 3rd gen motor ?

without going in too much details:

the JDM 3rd gen has abt 251hp while the JDM 2nd gen has abt 225...
3rd gen uses W2A int while the 2nd uses A2A int..

although you can get the st185 RC editon and they use W2A int also...

3rd gen motor gives you a better turbo (ct20b), 550cc injectors, map based system, and a water to air intercooler. besides that, there are minor revisions to the block and head too.

you should be able to use an st185 gearbox in an st205 car with no problems.

Im pretty sure the 205 has updated and better synchronizers. Go with the 205 or 3rd gen. mr2 3sgte if you can afford it.
