well the axle autozone gave me was obviously too short...

when i took a corner the cv joint broke and the result was a hole in my oil pan... hopefully only that and not the 3rd gen 3sgte block i have alkfjldjf..... it was horrible... my car sat parked with oil spilling out from under it.

The trans is in the same spot and has not moved after the swap... i know this because the trans/motor mounts (front rear and driver side mount)are still the 5sfe mounts and thus the trans is mounted in the same place it was when it was mated to the 5s.... (yes im still using the s54 with an helica lsd unit from a c56/52 [mrs] with a hybrid clutch from spec)

when on the lift with the suspension uncompressed the cv joint is obviously too short. the bearings are out of the cylinder thing where they are suppose to still be in.

n e way.... i think autozone gave me the wrong axle... is it a posiblity that they gave me a camry or 5th gen axle that was too short??

im going to get a real axle for my car and compare the two on mon but thought id get some input from you guys

thanks

Very possible. As I needed new lug nuts from them. There computer quoted that I needed m12 .25 when we actually use m12 .50. So I would imagine someone put the wrong numbers in and in turn you were given the wrong axle.

i dont see how lug nuts have n e thing to do with an axle... or r u talking about the nut that holds the axle onto the hub

I gave up on Autozone and Pepboys x 2years now. Just got tired of going back and forth replacing parts I got from them. I now just cough it up and get OEM as much as possible.
I think NAPA by far appears to have better products - at least regarding callipers, that is.

I dont see what was so hard about understanding my statement. I explained that Autozone screws up all the time and it would make sense you would receive and improper part.

oh i see what you were saying.

n e way i compared the autozone axle to an oem one and it indeed is too short. thus the reason why it broke and make a hole in my oil pan.....

..... i plan on returning it and also calling autozone corporate to see if i can get my money back from for my troubles and for all the tranny fluid i had to buy.

You can actually sue them for providing you with dangerous and unsafe parts that did not match your specified vechile, but intended for it.

This falls under the category of (Bait and Switch) = "These will meet or EVEN exceed OEM specs." Basically they have to pay for any damages, harm, MENTAL damages (MEEEENNNTTTTAAAALLLLLL), and wat-so-ever.

Then again it only works if:
1.) A pro installed it with proof or a good proof that ur a pro.
2.) You still have the receipt
3.) You take them to court and sue.
