As of late, my celica is having problems with the driver's side door. I have an aftermarket keyless system installed, although I do not think that this is the problem, as I've had a slight resistance to turn when using the key as well. I'll unlock the car and open the door with the remote, and it opens to a slighly ajar state, and then stops. If I press unlock again and try the handle once more, the door opens fine... This is becoming very irritating... I'd say one out of every three first attempts, I have no problems. Any ideas / suggestions?

i had the same problem when i first installed a keyless entry system on my old 4th gen... if you're using a solenoid to release the latch, you'll need to adjust it so that the cable's tighter. the tighter the cable, the more the latch gets pulled when the solenoid activates.. that solved my problem.
