I was clearing out my cousins garage and they gave me the following:
power amp pioneer gm-620 35w+35w The other a bridgeable Alpine 3542 power amp. a couple of Alpine 6251 60w .5 inch 2way speakers Alpine interconnector fort CD shuttle system 1 x Alpine 6963 2 way 7x5inch speaker The question is - i already have a fine set up -like focal and mb quart speakers, a JBL sub and amp. Is it worth adding the old Alpine amp to drive my front set of component speakers or just leave it to my 2006 model Alpine head unit to drive them. -------------------- san0.:GT-SS2:. |

An after market amplifier will almost always sound better than using the head unit's internal amp. I would at least give it a try. Just wire it in to see how it sounds before you worry about mounting it. If you don't like how it sounds don't use it.
Using the alpine amp you should get much tighter bass and cleaner highs. If you have mb quarts and focals running off the deck they will really come to life with the amp. Go for it. |
