starting my new job in a week...but..... Options

So im starting my new job working for Nissan Infiinty of Windsor in a weeks time. Im just gonna b starting off doing oil changes, tires, and really simple basic work. eventually im gonna get up into the big shop. I would be really excited but then my friend dropped this in my mail box this morning. It was an add posted in the Windsor Star newspaper's classified for a Ford dealership in Fort Mc Murray Alberta....


im starting at $9/hr ...it kinda makes me wanna move...except for 1 minor detail...housing out there is insanely expensive.

I was just kinda peved that im starting at $9/hr..and then out there its $43.50/hr..plus another $0.50/hr for tool and boot allowance...kinda sucks.

just wanted to vent.

But yeah... 9/ hour doing oil changes seems like a lot to me already... it doesn't take a rocket scientist to do an oil change. That's why people go to school. The more you know, the more valuable you are.

I'm sure doing oil changes and such for 9/ hour is what you plan on permanently doing.

Im a mechanic and have over 4,000 dollars in tools. I wish I would have gotten a tool allowance.

i write to vent because no offence to my friends, but they are idots and dont get it..lol And i can see what i can do about a G for u Nat...you sure you dont want a G37 though??

well new job sucks ass..lol. Ive been working there for 4 days and im really really starting to hate it....in 4 days, ive done 2 oil changes *im hired as an apparentice/lube bay*...but other than that..ive been washing tons of cars....like..24+ a day....thats it..ive done maybe 5 shuttels too...and other than that..been treated like a child/moron....my boss checks up on me every 5 min making sure im doing my job..treats me like sh*t, and treats me like i got to work on the short bus and had to take off my helmet for work. Also, shes just a plain dick...like today we had the Metro truck come in *food services*, and i was washing a car..the metro truck parked right next to the car i was washing...so i couldnt finish washing it because i would spray every one with the power washer if i did....so i got my drink, put the drink down...went to the washroom, came back out, truck was still there...so i went over to my drink...cracked it open, took a quick swig and my boss comes over and says to me.."are you feeling alright?"...so i said yes just a little hot...then she goes "well...this car needs to be washed..and the customer is waiting.."...so i said "ok...well im just waiting for the metro truck to move"..so she went and started to walk away..so i went back, took another quick sip of my drink and she looks at me and goes "just so you know..the customer isnt waiting for you to finish up that drink...so hurry the hell up with this car"...so im really not liking her or the job..ohh....and i also forgot..here in Ontario, we get 2 15min paid breaks if you work more than 8 hours or more in a day..my boss is wraping up thouse 15 min breaks into a half an hour, then adding it to my lunch time..but the thing is...i dont get paid for lunch...so...im gonna be done there on thursday *payday*...and im moving down the road to the local toyota dealership to work in the parts department so i should b much happier there.
