My c52 **** a gear coming home from fencing Saturday. I will be removing the axles over the next few days, but what would be the cheapest option for finding a replacement? I was thinking of calling some junkyards, and trying to pick on up that way. The car has 245k miles, and pretty much is my beater at this point. (I pour my cash into my 914) The car only really needs to last another year, and the 7afe is stock.

I could have the transmission rebuilt, but I am on a time constraint. So, anyone have tips on calling around?

Lastly, on the passenger side there was a rubber ring *metal in the center* that was attached to the shaft. Anybody got an idea of the part number? Mine seems to have come apart and has been spinning around on the shaft for about a week.

Cheapest is to find a junk tranny and install it yourself.

The rubber ring is the oil seal, and you could ask for this by name at the dealership.
