oh I am ready for it!
I just got a call from WebCams. They are shipping them tonight and I will have them on Weds. My clutch is still scheduled to arrive on Tues. That should be the last of it. -------------------- |

Just turbo it now, girl. You can baby the gas and the turbo will not boost too much. My TO4B spools very fast, even on this auto tranny, yet I can drive it all the time off-boost if I'm careful on the gas. It'll boost 1 PSI when taking off from a light, but after getting up to speed, it'll be hovering just below 0. When I replaced my broken piston, I rebuilt the engine entirely just to be safe, and I broke it in with the turbo setup for 500 miles using cheap oil, then I used Valvoline VR-1 Racing, which is what I've been using since 2003.

so yesterday I bought a flywheel for $50 and had it resurfaced for $32
I got my cams today with a total bill of $516.72. I will take some pictures before they are installed in the engine tomorrow. The swap is now scheduled for the weekend of Dec 14-16.... next weekend -------------------- |

Cams are in and the motor is back together. I just need to get some tranny fluid and oil and everything is ready to go for this weekend.
I didn't take any pics staright out of the packaging. this is after we had already checked and rechecked the shims so the feeler gauge took some paint off. they sent me a page with the specs on it, if anyone is interested I'll scan and post it later. -------------------- |

-------------------- I think Bigfoot is blurry, that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry. And that's extra scary to me, because there's a large, out-of-focus monster roaming the countryside. |

I haven't pushed it too hard yet since, 1, its a new motor and 2, I have an exhaust leak problem that needs to be taken care of.
there is a very noticeable difference with the cams though. for those who have driven or do daily drive an ST, you know the part where you floor the gas pedal and it make a whole lot of noise but takes a while to go anywhere and when it does go it doesn't get there too fast.... well with the cams its much more responsive, when you step on the gas it goes and just keeps going. its probably pretty comparable to a stock [manual] GT only lighter and with a more linear power curve that doesn't drop off after a certain RPM. of course its still not overwhelmingly fast but its 20 times better than what it was. and just as a fun comparison... old-196,000 miles, burning and leaking oil--------------------------new-177,000+ miles and not burning oil-now rebuilt and in my car *comparison provided by Dustin's super duper MS Paint skillzorz This post has been edited by hurley97: Dec 19, 2007 - 12:35 AM -------------------- |
