the 3rd gen 3sgte (st205) has more horse than 2nd gen (st185) but is more expensive. you could also put in the 3s from an mr2 turbo but you would need to relocate a few things.

hold on guys...

if you want to put a st185 or st205 in your GT then you would use you existing GT mounts (3 are on the tranny) and you will use your GT tranny, not the 185 or 205 tranny (it's 4 wheel drive).

so the quick answer is NO. The 185 and 205 tranny mounts/brackets are different. If you plan to swap from a GT to having a 185 or 205 motor, then use your GT mounts.

batman im not sure i follow you here, he never asked for which tranny to use he was only asking if the 3sgte fit in his car, and the answer is YES..but i do see where you're coming from.

to fran, yes the motor will fit under ur hood just fine...my advice is to get the gt4 bonnet and bumper to allow more air to flow through, or go with a FMIC.

yes i will buy front bumper and hood of the GT4, wath ever soon or later i will equip a FMIC

I was thinking to get some 300-350 HP with the 3SGTE... CT26 can handle 20 PSI of boost?
Plus add 50HP with nitrous then up to 400HP, the 3SGTE comes with forged internal. do you think that i will blow up the engine? ^^

you won't get that much HP with just a 3sgte drop in. they are rated around 240-250 hp stock IIRC don't quote me. you would have to do a lot of mods to get it to 400 hp. more that just NOS. i think itchy b has his at about 320 hp and he has a huge A turbo on his as well as a lot of other mods.

I need the big ones...... two of 'em.... and Harry... I need them by tonight.....

But seriously My personal goal with my 3rd GEN 3SGTE has always been 300 HP at the wheels with nothing more than some mild (IMHO) engine work and a boost controller

400 "appears" to require a larger turbo, maybe some cams, and 3rd party engine management

I'm also not sure why everyone wants to drop the W/A intercooler... I find the idea of a uber short air track to be most excellent smile.gif

the internal are good forged? or do you think that they must be replaced for new ones?

i think that with some cam work, new pulleys, bigger TB, bigger turbo and FMIC, then easy go up to 300HP

what its the biggest turbo that anyone put on a 3SGTE?... later the problem when you got a big turbo its turbo lag!...

the stock internals dont handle much power(pistons break ringlands way too easy), i also wouldn't push the ct26 past 16psi.....thats with meth injection, and other supporting mods.

get on mr2oc.com to see what you need to push that power.

once you get ALL the parts necessary, i'd send the harnesses to Dr.Tweak, the price is worth it, no guessing.

depends on what spec is the clip ur getting..jdm t26s are ceramic and can boost up to 28psi..although i dont recommend going anywhere above 18psi, but a guy had his all the way to 28.

with aftermarket ecu, FMIC, exhaust you can boost this little beauty to 18psi--->280hp, thats a pretty good setup considering no mod were done to it. A mapable boost controller can proabbly take it to 24psi..but power would be lost.

if you wanna take it to 400..then thats another story.
