Guys, I have 170K miles on my motor...it still runs like a champ though with no probs...I want to take off the head and port/polish it and add a nice header too. Then, tune. Is that going to be ok? or am I looking at hurting my bottom end in some unforseen way? Thanks!

pain in the ass if your just going to do a port and polish. the 5s head isn't the most easiest heads to take off like a lil 1.5 civic head. it'll be about a 6 hour job or so for an experienced mechanic and you definitely don't want to be without a repair manual such as a haynes.

well celica owner to celica owner, i would have to advise against it. it is your car and should do what you want with it, and it prolly would last a little while longer with it, you would see a little power, but for the money its prolly not worth it. unless your an experiance mechanic and machinist and plan to do it all your self, i wouldn't. save your money and go with the 3s head or 3s swap, but still keep it basic.

Even with the 3s head, he'll fun into problems. He'll have a lot more work with putting on the 3s head vs the 5s head port and polish. You're better off with a swap.

I don't want to do a swap...I only want a little bit of noticeable HP and torque. I just got rid of my turbo car and have had it with turbos at this time. If the 3sgte head is do-able then I'd like to go with that, but will my bottom end take it? If not, then I'll just keep the cold-air intake, exhaust, and go with a header and that'll be that.

yeah i'ld go that direction, do bolt ons like cams and what not. and if you don't want turbo i think the MR2 guys get some power by going to a 3sge head on a 3s block if they want NA power.

So...webcams. I'd like to get them but I do NOT want to have to get any supporting mods or upgrades. Do I need to get mods or upgrades if I get webcams???

AND the 3SGTE Head...I want that too, but I don't want to have to "modify" anything or have to upgrade anything like injectors or my ecu in order to run the 3sgte head. Do I have to do any of that??

from what ive heard and read, if you swap 3s-gte or 3sge head into a 6gc you need all the sensors , wiring and ecu for the head
