QUOTE(BlackCelicaGT94 @ Sep 23, 2007 - 11:56 PM) Thanks everyone. I really wanted a toyota really badly and looked at the 2008 Camry but they are all automatics. Someoen suggested at work I take a look at the VW's and once I drove the GTI that was it. I was hooked! Im hoping to sell the Celica to a local 5th gen celica owner they only came in autos?...they have stick ones up here. But congrats at the new car. I like newer VWs and thats one of the only cars i would sell my celica for. |

Nice choice but I personally couldn't bring myself to buy that car
It's fast but its fwd, I know the r32 is awd but it would be nice if they offered a awd version of the GTI. it looks ok, but for me its a little off. But looks are subjective and thats opinion. The dsg system is nice but the novelty of it wears off quickly. German cars are expensive to mod(trust me i know) and that being said a lot of money has to be thrown at the GTI to make it a performer. Still overall nice car and congrats -------------------- 2011 Spice Orange Mini Cooper

I didnt buy it for performance. I bought it mainly because I liked it and it was a nice car to drive. I wont be modding it anywhere near as what I did for the Celica. I will just tint and exhaust.
Im just happy to have a car in my name and start building my credit. -------------------- Cruisin down the street in my Infiniti...always lookin for my next trip to Sin City

anothing that bothered me about that car is that a fairly equpped gti cost more than my old Z was brand new... to much if you ask me

QUOTE(zachattack15 @ Sep 24, 2007 - 1:59 PM) Nice car. I work on those every so often at the shop. Fun little cars to drive. haha VW reliability for ya! you can make the GTI pretty quick for not too much $ if you do your research and go for a few key things first. i was able to spend ~$150 on my jetta to make it as fast in the 1/4 mile as one Audi B7 2.0T with every bolt on mod there was stay away from EIP and APR has a nice sounding GTI exhaust..3" dp ftw as well |
