hi i was trying to rotate my tires but the wheels were stubborn and did not want to come off. i heard if u wack the back of the wheel it will come off but not successful. wat else can be done to take off my rear wheels? i even tried kicking it like i do to the front but that only makes my wheel bounce up and down.

Are you having trouble breaking the lugs off or are you not able to get the rim off the spindle?

I think hes having troubles getting the rim off the spindle. What happened is the fact that your rims rusted onto the spindle. Just spray it down with wd40. All I had to do was kick the darn thing and it popped right out.

its a little on the dangerious side, but if they dont come off.

put the lugs nuts on real loose. then drive the car around for a couple of feet at slow speeds.

That should losen them up.

do not do that, its horribly unsafe even at low speed. a bump in the road, even a small one could sheer a lugstud or damage the wheel/spindle. not to mention if the lugnuts loosen themselves further and the wheel comes off!

i've tried wd40 and kicking the shnzit out of it but no luck. when ever i kick it the wheel does not come off the spindle or is it the drums? when i do that my wheel just bounces up and down. im trying to take off the rear wheels by the way. loosening the lug nuts and driving slowly does sound like its gonna work but like bitter said i dont want to cause more damage. i heard that if i knock the back of the wheel with a hammer it would fall off but no work. i really dont want to take it to a mechanic cuz this job is so easy its just taking the wheels off the rusted drums is a pain in the rear. especially after christmas im like totally broke

keep at it, it will come off. get a big rubber hammer and hit it from the front and back. what do you mean it bounces?

what i mean by bounces is that when i kick it the wheel moves up and down with the struts.

ok new plan i now need a rubber hammer. i was literally using one of those hammers u use to hits nails. what do u mean hit it from the front and back? i hit the back of the steelies and then hit the front where the lug nuts are?

take your tool, go buy a piece of tube about 1.5meters, put it at the end of your tool
that the most usefull way of getting free of a lugnut

Dude its not the lug bro. Its the wheel being rusted onto the spindle. It happened to me. Just put wd40 around where the wheels attatched to the spindle and let it sit.

first hit the gym.. work on you arms and legs.. cause you sound really weak.. then to get the wheel off do this

Safety first. lift the rear of the car and place it on jack stands.. on level ground.. once the car is on the stands.. and you lug nuts are off .. with you back facing the wheel kick the bottom part of the wheel with the sole of your shoes.. on the part where the rim meets the tire.. and kick it hard like you just found the wheel humping you girlfriend. do that a few time but remember kick it hard. if that doesn't work.. you really should go to the gym with you head hung in shame..

Going to the gym has nothing to do with fused metal. My father was removing the crankshaft bolt on my brother's buick and snapped the steel 24mm crescent wrench in half. Bolt didn't move.

you can't compare a bolt to a rusted wheel and hub... I have done this more times then I would like to count on almost all types off cars. Working at Goodyear for a year you come across this a lot. he just need to you more force to remove the wheel. eople at just worried about using all their force to get the wheel off..

and the gym part was just a joke

Haha. F that. It's the internet. Nothing is real on the internet. And if nothing is real, how can you justify taking anything seriously?

ive worked at sams, and now sears auto centers, and yeah iv'e come accross this alot too, they are telling you what you need to do, but if you cann't get it take it to sears or sams and they should get the wheel off for you and then put it back on for no charge then you can rotate your self
