Hey guys i'm going to pick up a friend of mine's 89 Celica GT-S tomorrow or Thursday. It has a 3SGTE engine swap in it. Car is in good condition, and the engine is in decent condition. The car still runs, just needs a new axle. Buying it for $700...Heck of a deal. here are pics, tell me what'cha think

I think in other countries the 5th gen arrived earlier, like ~ 1989.5 I had a 1987 GT wasn't as fast but it was fun to drive, then rust took it away from me. -------------------- |

probably built in 88 but sold as 89..
my old 4th gen was an 89 (built in 88). those cars (imo) have better handling than our 6th gens.. at least my old 4th gen was... with Apex'i springs. -------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |

Yeah, i'm 100% positive that it is an 89.
I'm pretty excited about it. I can't wait to get that car and just open it up to see what it can do. Its a wicked light body style and a fast as crap engine. Its got about 270HP according to the current owner. So i'm really excited. A buddy of mine has 88 GT-S with a 2nd gen 3SGTE swap, same engine as this one and I am in love with it. That thing is so light and so fast that it just flies! We have so much fun in it. When I pick the car up i'm going to take a friend's video camera and take some pics and clips of picking up the car, puttin the axle on, then taking it for its 1st official run. so keep an eye out for it! -------------------- |
