So I/we (as in the girl friend too) ended up with a new car or i should say truck. sorry to say the celica still does not run but deff. has not been sold I just keep stackin em up. Currently a total of 5 and a half cars between the 2 of us.)
this one has a interesting and cool history, and is our first vehicle bought together.

The history is that my girlfriend and her dad built this truck from the groud up a few years ago then had to sell it. We bought it back from the same guy who has done a few things to it but mainly let it sit. Its a 77' Ford 3/4 ton chassis with a 77' F150 custom cab and long bed, featuring a 400 ci V8 I belive from a 77' F350? its in ok shape for its age but its our project truck as my celica is the project car. one for on road fun and one for off-road fun. It runs good and has plenty of towing capasity (to drag the celica around to races and shows etc once i get it running again) My girl was crazy about getting it again as she use to drive it all the time, and it saves us a ton of work fixing up her other truck, a 79' Ford 1/2 ton with a 351 thats now for sale allong with the 3/4 ton chassis and a 390 we have for it. Its far from the prettyest looking truck but its got plenty potential. Plans were to get as much of it sanded down as posible last weekend but rain canceled that. the idea is that once its all fixed up and pritty with a maching car trailer, and the celica is all fixed up and runs, we can hit the races and shows.

--- And to save an extra thread the subaru got new stoppers smile.gif ....

it was actualy a pretty nice summer i think, little rain. but yeah rain is here to stay.

celica has rod knock, pushed to much at autoX with not enough care. thus time for a new motor eventualy.

So whats the plan? New 5S or 3S? And what project holds priority? The truck or the Celica?

well since the celica is in storage its pretty much indefinetly on hold, I plan on dropping around 3.5k into it in one shot to get it to where I would like it, meaning a st185 clip and a few upgrades but that wont be for a while, maybe another year who knows. the truck only has priority since its in our driveway and already runs pretty good. most the work on that is just time rather then money and I'm tired of spending money on the celica frown.gif

I've discoverd that old trucks are fun because there's space to work, dont have to lift it up every time i want under and the engine bay is very spacious. plus there is very little electronic crap all over the place, the subaru is loaded with it, and the celica is not much better where as the truck is pretty basic, plus not worring about bumps and dips all the time is nice.
