Hi
My mate brought a 1996 3sge celica and wants to know what he can do to get it more hp. Hes not worried about every inch of power though but wants to get pretty close to the max safe hp for his motor without changing the internals. It only has a ram cone filter at the moment. He also wants to get the most power out of the car in the most efficient way (budget max is pretty much 2200USD), hes not keen on a beams swap though. Thatl cost to much right? 1) What are the options available? 2) Is there much hp gained from a complete exhaust from headers back compared to just removing the cat? 3) What about a computer? how much hp gain? what types the best? supporting mods that are needed? without s/c or turbo mate the 3sge is already pretty tuned to the max .
A good exhaust may free a few ponys but dont expect much ![]() I have a TRD panel filter + full straight through custom exhaust on my 3sge and it feels a bit better but its not exactly fast ! -------------------- 351.5bhp RWD TT

So what have you guys done?? ![]() Thanks Beno 1) Basic Tune up, replace sparks/distributor/rotor/oil and filters 2) Only real thing I would go for a Japanese tuners who have done there research, HKS or C-one has some nice exhaust setups for the 3S-GE 3) No HP gain really. The ECU is already 'maxed' out in a save point. The only thing you could besides Turbo/SC is ITB's with uprated valve springs + a complete porting job of the head. I had a 3S-GE in it and decided after 6 months of research between all different options to do the GTE swap. Never had any regret of that choice. -------------------- JDM Powerplant installed, BPU coming very soon!
