thats awesome, after you install them, make sure to wipe them down with denatured alcohol to remove all the oil and gunk from your hands, ect. so that they color nicely smile.gif

What are you going to do about the small ~3" section that needs to be lengthened in order to fit?

So you're installing it and then driving open header to an exhaust shop right after? Or a couple weeks down the road? What?

imma just hook up the header n downpipe n just hang the old precat piping on my car. its like less than a block away..if i had to, id just push it downhill

lol thats also another reason i let the shop do it for me :-p
easiest way i think is to just spray the hell out of them with some WD-40, let it set a few hours then have at it. that should work

**** that, just grind the heads off and punch them out. they're not coming off without breaking, trust me!

you'll love the topend boost you get from the header, 2nd and 3rd gear are much more fun with it than before.

umm 2nd PB Blaster.. if worse comes to worse grind off the bolts like he said. you may also want to consider replacing your gasgets, and definatly replace your exhaust manifold gasket.

yea..since i dont have a die grinder, imma go drive to my friends place tomorrow n use it to cut them suckas off..

however, when i look closely at the cat/precat flanges, the entire thing looks rusted over. i might just cut the whole flange off n just get another pipe piece to stick in

thanks for the help guys!

no pics today cuz im pissd at myself for not checkn all dis first :|

mines been wrapped for over a year without problems, and ive driven it long and hard during the year. 3500 rpm for 2 hours on the highway, 2nd gear romps around twisties, commuting, heavy traffic, etc. not a single problem with it.

yes, use new gaskets for the exhaust. get a new gasket for the cat flange as well if they do a flange for the other end of the header. they may just weld it right to the cat! honestly, dont dick around with anything other than grinding the heads of the bolts off. if theyre that rusty they're not going to be in any shape to be reused.

where you get the header from?

I asked around on Ebay and all the sellers tell me its a direct bolt on, and that no 3 inch pipe is needed...I bought my header the other day for 65 shipped smile.gif just waiting for it to come....should i wrap it? i hear wrapping causes cracks, how else can you dissapate the heat...and not bake the hood (i have a CF hood...)

As far as wrapping goes. Most of the bad cases come from people using SS Autochrome and the other Chinese knock offs.

actually it doesn't come from cheap parts (although that is a factor)

wrap keeps moisture in and causes premature rusting.
