I think so. It should unless it's something weird.

You can also use a Lancer/evo one.. Thats what I have, as though i did figure out it took much more modding than the 7th gen which drops in.

You wouldn't notice a difference I don't think. It's a metal stick, man. How could you really make it that bad of quality?

i'm not just talking about the metal stick. like... is the shift throw about the same or do the name brands have shorter throws?

the technology in the trd short throw is pretty easy for competitors to replicate. I got the trd a few years ago, simply because I like the name brand feel and I didn't mind paying a little more. I also didn't know the ones from the lancer and 2000+ celica worked.

the ebay shifter is the best thing you can buy for $30. i can't notice anything wrong with it that would make my pay $120+ more for a shifter.

I just bought a 7th gen shifter. I'll let you know if there's any problems. Everyone else seems to be cool with them.

I got a TWM short-shifter, it's a bit harder to shift into the gears becaues it's a shorter stick but other than that, it's fine. It shifts fine, and i love the 1.5" drop and the 35% throw reduction, except in ur 1st and 2nd gear, ur parking brake will sorta be in the way.

i couldnt dissagree more.
there is a HUGE diffrence between the 7th gen, TWM, and TRD products.
the first two are JUST the shifter arm itself, the TRD is the whole assembely, and most of the time includes the TRD knob.
the first two are "short shifters" much shorter arm, and throw. they both require more effort to move between gears, the 7th gen more than the TWM.
the TRD is a "quickshifter"
the throw is shorter, and the length is about 1/2" shorter overall, with knob.
feel is MUCH tighter ALOT less slop in the shifter overall, but effort to get between shifts is still very low
the whole idea behind a "short/quickshifter" is for racing purposes, where you have both hands on the wheel, and you want to be able to shift between gears as quickly as possible and get your hands back on the wheel.
the TWM and others do not accomplish this goal.
if your going just for looks, the TWM or 7th gen is your deal, as they are the shortest. (which is what most people are after)

Awesome link, I'll have to add that to favorites. So do the TRD ss still exist for sale? If not I'll have to go with this one.

Manny basically said what i wanted to say when he mentioned the TRD being an entire shifter not just the shift stick... I have the ebay 7th gen short shifter and its decent, but sloppy and has some play side to side etc. (this is NOT due to the shifter i bought, but more the entire shifter assembly having 210k on it)

therefore i will be buying a TRD since it will replace the entire unit and shift a lot tighter and smoother..

which to me is a lot more important than a short stick
