A race horse with fancy hooves is still a horse from 20 yards away.
A race horse painted purple stands out like a green hat in an orange field. JDM+Other non exotic kits look nice but 9/10 non celica owners will never know that you just spend all this time and money on whatever the kit you got. Exotic kits aka ones that are curvy (including invader) stand out and even a person who hates cars will notice a curve ball. -------------------- Captain Pessimist

Are you getting it for yourself, or are you getting it for everyone else? IMHO the kit should be for yourself and the one you like best, who cares if non Celica people don't notice it? By that same theory, why bother with engine and exhaust mods if you're just gonna drive around with your hood shut? I don't know or care how long it took the dumbass speeding down the freeway to get to 85 or 90 mph! -------------------- |

Agreed. The external mods I do to my car are for me and other Celica people. Most people don't even know what kind of car is in front of them because the badges are gone and hatches are more common than coupes. I like that. I only want the true Celica lovers to know what car I have and what I've done to it.

sigh what I meant to say was. Every upgrade that you do is an upgrade for a reason. If you has done anything mechanically ie exhaust its there for a reason. IF you spent a 1000 just so it sounds nice then something is not right here. Another thing to consider. Yes you are driving your celica the way that you like and upgrading exterior to you liking.
when i said the thing about the horse i meant it as a metephor. By installing hard to notice upgrades you are likely to avoid conversations like duuuuuudeeee sick car.... love what you done with it. Everyone has their own priorities but let me draw a real life example. My swapped celica looks like crap at the moment. Its multicolored with duct tape and body parts dont match cause they are hanging with zipties till it all goes into bodyshop. 10 ft away is a honda del sol with jdm upgrades. 20 ft away is a eclipse gsx with jdm upgrades, 15 ft away is a subaru srx with shiny rims, 40 ft is a showcar dodge charger. Who do you think recieves the most attention? People floculate around my car taking pics and waiting till owner comes out to ask like 40 cajillion questions. Having had a jdm bodykit on one of my celis before and having this.... huuuuuge difference. heck even on my stock daily driver. I am being asked about my carbon fibre hood at least 3 times per day. -------------------- Captain Pessimist
