cv boots break down with age.

You can replace with a split boot or a 1 peice boot.

Split boots are hard to find and dont last as long as the 1 peice, but they are much easier to replace.

I installed a split boot when i bought the car and it lasted 100,000 km before it broke. factory boot lasted ~100,000 km.

Found the last 2 split boots in my area and replaced both sides. so far so good. 20,000 km and counting

usually by the time the boots break open the joints are also worn and its easier to just replace the axle assemblies.
