If you wire 2 2ohm subs in parallel you will get a 1ohm impedence. Not alot of amps are stable at that but put out lots of power. That Kicker amp would be pushing over 1000watts rms but not for long. The other alternative is to wire them in series which will give you a 4ohm load which will mean you need a more powerful amp. your best bet is to find a pair of 4 ohm subs and wire them in parallel or a pair of dual voice coil 2ohm subs. both ways you can run it at 2ohms giving you more power and reliability. Hope this helps

They're 2 ohm SVC (single voice coil)

Basically if you wire them in series, like in the pic that you posted, you double the impedence that they are rated at, 2ohm up to 4ohm. Reliable and efficient but you don't get many watts. If you wire them in parallel you halve the impedence, 2ohm down to 1ohm. Lots of watts but inefficient and prone to overheating. Some amps are 1ohm stable but its still inefficient.

Youre best bet in my opinion is to get two 4ohm subs and wire them parallel to get it down to a 2ohm load. Plenty of watts, efficient and reliable.

Stick with SVC if you had trouble with that. DVC is a bit more complex.

So basically series = double ohm load
parallel = half ohm load.

i know the Fosgate P1000-1BD for a fact is 1 ohm stable
and at 1ohm has a rms os 1300 watts
so you could look into that amp

ya BUT on teh specs the read 750 rms TOGETHER,and then 2ohms so im pretty sure there only 1ohm,ill ask crutchfield to see wat thay say.

EDIT:from crutchfield rep:
Greg.
The Polk has one set of speaker inputs which is 2 ohms. It is wired internally for a total 2 ohm impedance

so im going to go ahead and buy these soon and put them in,and if the amp blows i will return it and get a dif one.ANd if they say it wasnt there fault i will bring out the convos of them saying it was alright

Fair enough. That sounds like a good plan. I'd still say they're 4ohm a piece wired parallel internally. Let us know how they go and ask if you've got any more questions.

off topic but I think is funny how you're all over these polk subs and you have kicker subs on your signature.

those are great subs.

depending on how much noise you're looking to make you may wanna check these subs.

kicker

they are refurbished, but comes with 90 days warranty so you can blast them out to test them. I ordered those and have them on my hands, fast shipping and they look great. will install them in the next 2 weeks

I am a no nonsense kind of person when it comes to sounds. First off, I want strong bass with low power consumption. Answer to this, JL W3V3 and JL 250 watt. Trust me it hits pretty hard even with a small ported box. I've had dual sub bandpass ported, sure they hit hard but imagine, I've replaced two subs with a big heavy box with a single sub with a small box, and main thing, trunk space!

He needs to pick something and see what he likes and end this month old thread... people can give opinions all day, but you need to see what you like... go for something dvc that can take power and wont blow out easy like those polks above.

I have a ZX kicker amp, but mine is 400 watts, the amp is built really good, comes with remote bass controler, so you can quickly adjust the bass depending on the music you're listening by just turning to knob instead of going thru the radio equalizer. My ZX amp is powering the Kicker subs I showed you before, and yes I know is only 200 watts peak power but they can make my rear view mirror to shake, so that's more than what I was expecting from them. the ZX amo is an excellent amp. I read the whole thread and I think you're waiting for some feedback about the amp. The only thign is, this amp is not 1 Ohm stable, but I'm sure you knew that.
