hey guys. im thinking about shaving all my emblems except the T symbol in the middle. is it hard to reattact symbols? when i sell my car i'd like to put the emblems back on for the buyer. is it as simple as just reglueing it back on with the rubber compound?

yes it is.

Tips. take your time when removing the emblems off, you dont want to damage the paint behind the emblems. doesn't hurt to use plenty of adhesive remover.

most people use 3M double sided tape, its suppose to be very good.

Are there alignment holes behind the emblems?

I'd like to take mine off. I have a couple of the dragons emblems and a script celica emblem I'd like to add. I imagine a heat gun would work really well for getting them off clean.

the only thing holding on the emblems are glue, wat u do is get a hair dryer and get the emblem really hot then get some fishing line and run it behind the emblem to"cut" it off of the car. Then go to like auto zone and get some tape or glue..

alright here we go.

shaved rear

if you look at the very bottom where the curve is, you can see it looks normal. just imagine before that it had tons of tape residue, black scratches, and 6 drilled holes in it (drilled cuz of previous rear lip i had).

these are my rear splitters almost ready for installation. just need clear coat.

my emblems that survived

and the ones that didnt make it

what a shame to lose my awesome gold emblems.

and finally my aftermarket rims that i will be restoring and painting bronze soon.

the letters werent even plastic. it was a soft like clothish material. and the gold color peeled off like a clear coat.

hmm they look like real emblems to me..?
i know the stock emblem has the celica and toyota badge in one piece, but the 97 anniversary models (gray) and the gold emblem package has the emblems in individual lettering.
