For all your windows you are looking at 250-350. If you know someone that works there you can get a a complete job for around 150.

It really depends on what you want done and where you go.

if you are looking to do jus the rear window and rear 2 , anything around 100-110$ is a decent price. If you are looking to tint all windows except windshield, I wouldnt pay anything more than 160$. If you want a Front winshield strip 30$ for upper and another 25$ for lower.

hopefully that helps you out

I was looking to get my car tinted as well. Anyone got some opinons on what would look best on a black celica? I was thinking 5% in the back and 50% in front to avoid tickets. How would something less than 5% look in the back?

by less I mean say 15% in stead of 5%

dont mix tints. i have 15% all around. that is the darkest i would recommend. the chances of getting a ticket for tints is slim to none.

I think Bigfoot is blurry, that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry. And that's extra scary to me, because there's a large, out-of-focus monster roaming the countryside.

I have 5% on rear and both rear windows and 35% on front windows and both top and bottom window strips on windshield. I have pics up in profile if you want to take a look .... my car is also black... so if you want a good idea of what it looks like take a look. I have gotten pulled over once for the tint and i told the cop the front windows were stock tint and he let me go without a ticket or (R&I) havent had any problems since.

A big problem is I live in CA. I see ppl getting rolled all the time for it. I don't think 15% in the front would fly very well

I think the chances of getting pulled over depends on what color your car is. Tint is more noticable on dark cars like black. If your car is white or silver, tint is less noticable so the cops might miss it. I don't know about red.

its illegal to even tint the front two windows and the front windshield in ca. also, what 99celica said it depends on the color of your car and if its fixed up because its so attractive then everyone elses. cops only pull ppl over because they got nothing else to do.

There's actually a site that tells what the state laws are for window tinting in each state. Here's the link to the PDF http://www.iwfa.com/iwfa/Law_Chart/State%2...t%207-19-07.pdf

In California, as of July 2007, CA requires 70% visible light transmission, (so I guess that translates to 30% tints). And they can't be mirrored, amber, red or blue. (Thank god! I hate those colored window tints, they are TACKY!) laugh.gif

That's outrageous. I am taking my car in on Monday morning and they are charging $150 plus tax to do the two drivers and two passenger side windows at 20%. Old tint is easy to take off with a razor and acetone.

no. tint is measured in how much light can shine through. so a 50% tint would let 50% of the light shine through while a 35% tint would block out 65% of the light. 5% is extremely dark tint.

for california you could only get up to a 70% tint. I don't even know if there is such a tint, or if that would just be too close to stock glass. for NC, for a car you could get up to 35% tint in the front, rears, and rear windsheild.
