I just got done testing my mpg thinking it might be crappy since I read the 5s-fe runs rich and plus with the car being 'round 12 years old, but I was joyfully surprised to see I'm running 29+mpg city. (with ac running sometimes and having a heavy foot)

Just something to make me love my car alittle more, since I expected 24-.

I'm curiouse though since I want to either add a turbo or swap to a 2nd gen 3sgte as to what my mpg would turn out to be.

Who on here with either a 5s-fte or a 3s-gte swap (or the very few who have a 5s-gte) checked your mpg?

Just really curious.

(even if you don't have one of these set-ups you can still post your mpg tongue.gif )

Best I've ever got was 27 mpg on average. On a 96 GT.

EDIT: Did the math wrong. 29 MPG and the most amount of miles i got on one tank was 423 miles 60% freeway 40% City

I fill up - drive like normal - and then when I fill up again I take the miles I went and divide it by how many gallons I just filled up with.

For instance.

The 20V has been getting me about 29MPG. Say I went 350 miles from my first fill-up. I get 12 gallons of gas. So Its 350 divided by 12 = 29.16666667

20 city (where I mostly drive)

27 mix of city and highway

never use AC unless I absolutly have to, make sure tire pressure and fluids are all good, and rarely am hard on accelerator/brakes. all in all, not the absolute best mpg in a little toyota. kindasad.gif
