Hyundai isnt THAT bad , in the recent years their reliability ratings went up big time , the quality of their products did too , they no longer make crappy cars like they did in the 90s , also Hyundai has TONS of money for research and stuff and they will keep improving .... and if LewFX wasn't just being sarcastic , Hyundai is a HUGE company in south Korea , they do construction , They are the world's largest ship builders and a bunch of other heavy industries ....... i think i am buying this thing !

all you guys who diss hyundai diss it for unintelligent reasons.

the biggest reason i hear is that hyundai is low quality and unreliable. anyone who follows consumer reports will know that this is no longer the case.

I work on cars for a living. I have my reasons for thinking hyundai cars are garbage.

I think Bigfoot is blurry, that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry. And that's extra scary to me, because there's a large, out-of-focus monster roaming the countryside.

I like it to, mostly because it will have a 'evo' like 2.0 turbo engine in it which will probably mean that aftermarket parts could fit in it biggrin.gif

With the current exchange rate it wouldn't be very expensive to import. Maybe somewhere around 30k euro incl shipping/tax/registration. Thats low for Dutch standards, for example, a standard 350Z/Evo/STI Impreza or S2000 would cost 45-55.000 Euro. Got to love the Dutch Car tax of 42 percent.

=4 cylinder turbo rear wheel drive on the base model? sounds good to me! unfortunately all 2008 and newer cars are OBDIII and you can't do a darn thing in terms of modification without throwing a CEL. Then when it does throw a code, the car transmits that info via satellite to your states capitol, and they send you a letter in the mail telling you you have to fix your car in a certain amount of time.

you're on crack!

But that genesis coupe looks real nice, with hyndai's deprectiation they will be nice to pick up for a bargain in a couple of years.

all that hp only brings it to 60 in under 6 seconds? thats pretty slow. i dont know how they can say it competes with the g37 if it cant even outrun the g35. looks alright from the front. looks like the old tiburon from the side. taillights remind me of the solara. still...it is a huge step above the rest of their cars and that shows they are serious about this car.

and just because its a hyundai doesn't neccessarily mean its crap. if they do it right, especially at that price, it could be their flagship model..the one that redifines their stance in the automobile industry. every car company has a breadwinner. look at chevy, you cant compare the aveo to the corvette, in quality or design. dodge caliber cannot be compared to the dodge viper in the same fashion.

Yeah, my boyfriend's a tech that works for Hyundai and when he went to training in Cali, he got to see them up close and gets to be the first to drive them when they do their inspections when the cars come in. He's pretty excited about it lol.

I see Hyundai being the new Honda soon, just because they're so affordable and reliable for the most part, and Honda is getting more expensive anyway. Blame Mitsubishi for the majority of their bad rep because they made their engines in the earlier years.

So hopefully, the Genesis will make everyone look at them in a better light.

just my opinion...
a) they may write anything about performance and show fancy pictures but it's still Hyundai
b) concept is to show of... it will never be like this on production (because of price they will reduce everything they can)

Why not dump $5k of performance parts on a geo prism? OR how about you get a lift Honda CRX? This car doesn't look bad, but stay away from Hun-DIE.
