Okay, well I was told it is illegal to leave flyers on peoples' cars after spending all day finding other 6th gen celicas on my school campus. I had got one person's car and seen that they left, and as I was heading out somewhere in the opposite direction, seen what appeared to be their car again, so I left another flyer on it, because I wasn't 100% sure. I told a friend this and they were like "Dude! You know that isn't legal right?". People leave flyers on cars all the time, I don't see how that would be a bad thing. Plus all these other celicas always try to park next to me anyways, so I figured why not? I have been checking in here to see if there are any new members with hopes of my success and so far nothing. So I was wondering if I should just leave those other ones alone or should I keep leaving flyers? You have to understand that this town is a very conservative town. Meaning people stick to many small social clicks like many small tribes. They aren't very friendly and it takes a lot of effort to go out and make yourself known to strangers without provoking a fight or giving the wrong impression. If not, what else would you recommend? I am trying to get more 6gc.net members here in my city. I even almost chased down a car by my work that was in the drive thru at Jack-in-the-Box just to make friends locally with other 6gc owners.
I am really getting desperate here. I evny anyone who has other members they are friends with who can ride up to meets together and such. I want that damn it! Anyways, any suggestions or replies would be appreciated. -------------------- 91 MR2 Turbo SW20, 92 MR2 Turbo SW20, 95 Celica GT ST204

I don't know how legal it may be but I know it pisses me off when people think they can just touch my car like that. Especially when it's Pizza Flyers or something. It's pretty obvious I love my car and for someone to just randomly come along and use it for a bulliten board like that it makes me mad - it's like touching my GF without permission. Now if someone were to leave me a flyer for 6gc.net I would probably think that was cool - but I'm into it. If the person you give a flyer to is not an enthusiast and just happens to own a Celica I could see where that is annoying. I can also see where that would be illegal. Trespassing is basically touching someones property without permission - this is a very similar act.
Secondly I could see where it is illegal cause what if you happen to damage their car? Not saying you wouldn't be honest enough to own up to it but do you think the average pizza flyer guy would be? I doubt it. All that being said - people have jobs leaving flyers on your door knob and cars all the time. It may not be right but it doesn't appear to be illegal. Probably should be tho. -------------------- ENGINE: '93 RC 3S-GTE/WRC CT-20b [18-20PSI] PERF: TRD/HKS/ARP/NGK/MSD/ACT/Blitz/STRI/APEX'i/TwosRus/GReddy/Magnaflo/KOYO SUSP: Tein/Bilstein/SusTech/ INT: SS-III SEATS/Toyota Hyper Sports EXT: WRC/TRD/404 Its a safety feature so that people like you don't end up killing themselves or everyone around them. That's Bakersfield for ya. Stereo stuff is cheap because usually those guys are involved in other things of illegal doing, so they can afford to sell that stuff at a really cheap price. Plus everyone is into stereo equipment. Next time you are around here, hit me up prior and I'll give you my number and hang out or something. For the record guys, I do not touch peoples cars when I leave the flyers. I just place them on the windshield above the wiper. I was afraid I would set off an alarm, and like you all have said, I wouldn't want someone touching my car either. I might end up moving to So. Cal Yuchen, but if I do it will be for school which won't be for another few years or so. I need to find a good film school to attend. -------------------- 91 MR2 Turbo SW20, 92 MR2 Turbo SW20, 95 Celica GT ST204

Sounds good, hit me up. Oh by the way, are you far from Jeff Lew? Because I am planning on going to his place for some mod work and such. Hopefully this month, it keeps getting pushed back because of other financial objectives that like to keep jumping out at me. But I am getting there (saving up $$$) for what is going to be worth the whole trip and the money. Just trying to see who I can meet that I missed at the So Cal meet, so that if I never find anyone here locally to become a part of 6gc, I will still feel comfortable going to the meets because I would have met other members who will be there. And just to share some new information, after checking some cities here locally, I think I am the only member in my entire COUNTY! WHAT?! I know I have seen some fixed up celicas here in town. I need to hunt those mofos down. This post has been edited by Random_Stranger: Mar 27, 2008 - 6:03 PM -------------------- 91 MR2 Turbo SW20, 92 MR2 Turbo SW20, 95 Celica GT ST204

I'll touch your girlfriend all I want... What are you gonna do about it.... I agree though, I love my car too much. I go to university of houston and I get flyers and crap EVERYDAY on my acura tl. It makes me furious.... dont touch my car.... BUT you can tell an enthusiast most of the time... if the car is oxidized paint and 3 stock steelies with 3 different plastic rims and 1 spare tire, missing 1 side mirror and 1 fender is completely dented in and the other fender is blue ON A RED CAR.... I wouldnt bother wasting you flyer haha. I would say use good judgment on the flyer deal... I dont think it is illegal at the moment. BUT if you want to be sure call your local precinct and ask... - Matt |

You are probably technically guilty of littering, but I hink you'd have to be banging the cops wife for him to arrest you for it.

Between the rest of the time, they don't want to fill out no paperwork.
