Last weekend i had to throw my winters on just because i wasnt gonna b back to Toronto b4 the snow hits *later tonight*. So i threw my original 15s on, and noticed they are starting to pit. So i decided i was gonna paint em. So i spent maybe..20 min tonight cleanin them, then i masked off the tires and did some quick painting.

IPB Image

ive only got the 1 done right now cuz i started to feel sick

but while i was at it, i did sarahs hub caps because shes back on her stock 14s for the winter

But b4 i decided to do my wheels, i started on my newest project. Some custom tails for sarah's coupe. We have an extra set of OEM tails laying around the garage we pickedup from a scrap yard. So for x-mas, i decided i was gonna get her some currens, but then i relized..i dont have any $..lol So instead, i spent $30 and decided to try and make some clear tails fallen hero style.
This is what ive done so far
IPB Image
thats with the clear plastic over top of it right now

Im still debating on if i wanna throw the clear lens back on, or if i wanna do the whole office lighting material way
IPB Image
or, im also thinking of kinda doing a glazed window kinda look and make it more like a BMW style tail light.

either way, i also picked up a set of red LED bulbs to put behind the plastic.

What do you guys think?

Paint on the wheels looks good hows it gonna hold up? Did you prime and all that or just a quick spray, what paint did you use?

dupicolor wheel paint. I did a the set of Borbet wheels we got with the coupe with the same paint but bronze and they hold up really well, 2 coats and its good. No chips, no problems with brake dust, or any thing

well..i finished 1 of the tail lights tonight...kinda. I had to put a bit more epoxy in to make a flush seal between the 2 parts. But i decided to put the tail in, take a look and some pics and see how the led bulb looked. Also i ended up just using the peice i cut out, but sanded it down with the sanding bit on my rotary tool, then used some emery cloth over top of that to give it some texture.

So stock

VCM *Valo Custom Mods..lol* tail
IPB Image

i also got a pic with the led bulb in and lit up. It looks pretty good. Its a bright red even though it looks amber in the pic and videos to fallow.
IPB Image

I also had some extream white PIAA bulbs in my old stock tails, but since im using the JDM harness, they dont fit any more, so i pulled them out and poped em into the coupes tails and WOW are they bright. Also the LED is nice because its just ON, OFF, no inbetween time, so they look really good IMO.
Reverse lights
IPB Image

4-ways on
IPB Image

Also, once i took the 4ways off, i tryed the turns individualy, when i put the turn signal on the side with the LED, it started to blink stupid fast. I couldnt figure out why. So i pulled the tail back out. The guy gave me the wrong bulbs. They were the ones for the front turn signals. So i went to go put them in the front, and 1 of the 2 grounding pegs had broken off, so im gonna go return it tomorrow and get the right ones for the back aswell.

whats funny is that the blinking is random... its not a regular fast or slow blink... imo fast blink is nice

as far as the tails, it looks nice, except for the jaggy areas ^^

the second coat of epoxy is filling them in, then i just need to clean up the excess and it will look much nicer.

i doubt i will be..im just doin this as a cheaper then curren way to make her coupe look a bit better. And yea, its my frist time trying something like this. I got some pretty good skills when it comes to mechanics stuff and im not bad at upholstery, but my first time screwin around with lighting. I think i might modify my JDM tails on my car next and take the amber peice out.

bit of an update. I put the finaly layer of expoxy on the tail light on Friday afternoon. But, the temp went down about...6 degrees that night and its been below freezing for the last few days. So i brought the tail light inside and put it beside the heater in the living rooom. So the final product.
IPB Image

I also made some clear sidemarkers for sarahs car too.

So i now have another set of front turns in the mail right now that i should b gettin in a few days. So when they come in, the turns are gonna be done.
