I think 1 Question mark covers your need..

First you need spacers...

HERE

Then you need to remove the door panel...

HERE

Then you need this...

Right, you have 2 options.
1. Use OEM speaker cable through the door.
2. Use uprated OFC speaker cable, but that involves threading new wire through the door loom.

Once you have decided one of the two options, you have another pair of options to choose from.

1. Mount the crossover network hidden behind the door card.
2. Mount the crossover network Outside the doorcard on display. If the crossover is mounted in the cabin, or boot, you will need 2 pairs of wire each side for tweets and mids.

Now the work begins.

1. Remove old speakers and plastic holder.
2. Prise old speakers off the holder.
3. Fetch the spacers.
4. Mount new woofers onto spacers. (I fitted my MB Quart) woofer behind due to the angle of the basket, and to be honest I couldnt be arsed to file it as it was a ferfect fit behind, and it was about to rain (always rains in UK).
5. Connect the wire to the woofer, then screw the spacer with the woofer already mounted onto the door. The wire should be run through the little gap at the top between the plastic holder and spacer.
6. Now your woofer is screwed in, and wire dangling you can fit the crossover etc as you see fit, from the decisions you made about how you want it set up.

Time: Once planned, about 30 minutes a side.
Needed: Phillips screwdriver , Flat screwdriver, silicone sealant, precision screwdriver, soldering iron (for the prefectionists), crimp connectors.

Hope this helps.

I'm not much help as far as install goes, as my dad helped me install my speakers, but I didn't need spacers, they just dropped right in where the OEM's came out. But I have a 94 ST Coupe, maybe the audio setup is different....

you sure about that?? there's no way the 6.5" can fit in the 8" which is on every US celica... unless they weren't factory speakers

Right, there is a 2 pin connector for the speaker. You need to cut the wire where the connector is, then solder or crimp the new wire there for the speaker.

Unless you have an 8 inch speaker, you WILL need a spacer.

You make a thread for people to help you and you take it to best buy and waste your money?

No sympathy.

the "plastic holder" we have for our car fit's 8inch speakers...the speaker u got is a 6.5 inch if i remember reading correctly...so u have 1.5 inch gap..hence where the spacer comes into play...it fills that gap...it's like a 1.5 inch "large washer" u'd use w/ nuts and bolts....

wut best buy is doin is being gay and overcharging $80 you for most likely a piece of plastic that they probably have to trace and cut out and drill few holes...

what i would do is complain...hopfully u didn't pay them 80 more..and say to quoted me 70 i'm not paying n e more..if u dun want to finish the job then put the speaker and panel back in and return my money...if that doesn't work..consider urself... owned.gif
