This is a bit of a tall order, but does anyone know where I could find a LHD ST205 climate control unit? Thanks in advance if you have any information.

You might want to look on ebay. I see a couple on sale there.
Good luck.

Malecrod; I've tried searching ebay for the past several months without much luck. I've been trying to figure out which countries received the LHD GT-Fours, but have not read anything decisive or credible. Have you seen LHD units on ebay or were they simply the auto climate control for the ST205?

Valo; I'm just looking for the unit which sits directly underneath the radio, so it's not huge in terms of size. The pieces of hardware sitting behind the dash are remarkably similar between the LHD and RHD versions. I was able to strip parts off of my JDM clip and almost have everything I need, the big missing link is the human interface unit.

Playr; If you have an auto climate control unit, I might be interested in it. The other option I have is to buy a RHD unit, cut the brackets and fabricate new ones. The only key is it has to have two plugs in the back, not one. If it does have two plugs, then please send me a pm and we can go from there.

LHD GT-Four had the same A/C conrol unit as you guys in your Ordinary ST/GT have.

Only RHD GT-Four's / SSIII had the climate control units.

i have the rhd gt4/ss3 climate control unit. it's the electric one where you can set the actual temperature and whatnot. let me know if you're interested. I'm not really sure what it would cost at the dealer, but i think i paid around 80 for it - i dont really remember. i'd sell it for $73. Let me know if you're interested and i can post pics.

To make it work on the ST / GT - it would take ALOT of wiring, cuz it has totaly different sensors system + all the heater core is controled by motors, and not by simple metal bars. Another thing - cars equiped with Climate control have heat sensor witch sits on top of the dash that messures heat from outside and have sensor witch messures heat inside of the interior. Even havin all the needed wiring - i think it would be basicly imposible to make it work in car without climate control, cuz most of the wiring is integrated in the dash / engine / surrounding wiring.

Theres alot of work even then im converting from RHD to LHD to make the non climate control LHD heater cores to have the motor controls units, to run all the wiring and etc, lots of parts need to be custom made and so on...

It looked awful intimidating at a first glance, but I looked both systems over inside and out for a long while before doing any work on it. All of the sensors and wiring can be swapped with minimal fabrication (just precise cutting) and a fair amount of effort. It's been since August, but I think it was 1-2 full days worth of work (including preliminary assessment) on the climate control system. Now every sensor, motor, fan and other electrical device off the GT4 are in my car, and every wire has a mate. The tricky part which requires fabrication comes in when dealing with one of two stepper motors located directly underneath the central vent box. It does not exist in the US version, but there are reinforced mounted holes in the right spots, just bass ackwards from the RHD version. So, it was my hope to find at least the LHD Auto climate control box (thanks for the information btw, it explains conclusively why a several month search has yielded no result) allowing me to determine the nature of how it controls the stepper motors at which point custom a mounting bracket and most likely connecting arm can be fabricated. Unfortunately, the half-cut I purchased (and now my car) was wired for a climate control unit with two plugs in back, and the climate control unit I purchased (shortly after the clip from the same person) was the standard 1-plug variation. So that's my predicament.

You can easily adapt RHD climate control box without major problems, but this would requer some cutting on interior plastics, + no need of fabricating any mounting legs, cuz you can just glue your climate control box to the center dash piece, but it will not slide in to the dash cuz it will be hitting some mounts right behing the center dash piece...

As for the stepper motors - stepper motor witch controls position of the air - its totaly the same as RHD core motor, the only tricky part is to mount the cold / hot motor - witch requers some custom mounting + you will need to mount metal bar witch opens / close hot / cold collant. That there you will need to turn your head on wink.gif

Okay, I see what you mean now. The one I saw on ebay is this item #260187375941. Sorry about the confusion.
