Projectors, wiring harness Options

ok, so i was looking around after i got my projectors, and its saying i need either an h1 or h4 adapter. is this only so the wiring looks clean, or is it necessary? i dont really have the time to order this, as i am moving out of my current place and need this car by monday. can i just tap into the stock wiring harness for the headlights and just extend the wires a bit to the new lights?

What do you intend to plug your H1 bulbs into without the adapter?

you could hard wire, or solder them, or just strip the wire end a lil more and wrap it around the h1 plug and twist it and put some electrical, or better yet duct tape to secure it!

the harness is very cheap and should be in stock at any autoparts store, you just plug to the projector bulb, and twist and stick the pig tail end into the stock harness, pretty simple and easy, and prolly easier than any of the half ass ways mentioned above. not to be a smart ass... but id rather not risk my lights not work due to a bad connection while its all cold and rainy/snowy out

x2...i got my h4 harness at a local auto parts store for about $3 piece...$6 total.....all u need to do is cut off your usdm harness and splice it and connect it to the newly acquired h4 harness..takes about 10 minutes to do....by all means, do it this way so you can be sure that your headlights are wired safely and appropriately..just my 2 cents...gl

yeah i checked at my local napa and other auto parts store we have, and they have nothing. well its actually not local, i live about 30 miles from them, and to get to missoula that would definently have them is about 75 miles. and the car doesnt have lights and all that, so ireally cant make it down there to get it. if i could find the right part online, it would still take a week to ship probably, and i definently need it by this weekend. kind of a messed up situation

I think you should rig them up enough to get 'em to work, just for a week while you wait for the sockets to arrive after ordering them online. It's really important that you have the right connectors, especially with the snow and cold there, you don't need to have them crap out on you at an inopportune time.

yeah that is very true LewFX, they look awesome! i love them, so classy and sleek! but yeah, my car wasnt smashed, and the body guy is putting my invader front end on today, so hes mounting them in there with no wires attached so we will have to figure something out later. i really dont want to jerry rig them, but its looking like its gonna have to be the case for the time being.

and on a side note, the AITRacing Invader bumper i bought, was not even CLOSE to fitting square, the whole thing has to be cut apart and and fit on there. pay that much money for something and they send you a pile of crap. its gonna cost twice as much as the bumper cost for them to cut it all apart and sand it all smooth again after/if they can get it to fit

Still working on that electrical problem as well. my Air Bag light in the dash will come on, but no dash lights, no tail lights, no cd player, nothing like that. But the car will turn over when i turn the key. so if anyone has any ideas what it could be, reply or send me a message.
