Hello, someone pulled out on me the other day and i had to break VERY HARD, snaking everywhere, had the backend right out at one point but i didnt hit anything

now

at speed 40+ theres a knocking noise comming from my car, and i can feel it on my arse and on the wheel

ive had a look at the break pads, has anyone else got any ideas? the knocking gets faster with speed

Could it be your axles?

Because thats all i can think of knocking if its not your brakes.

No you won't nessecarily bend an axle. You can easily bust them up doing stuff like that. I didn;t see this pile of snow in the middle of the road (dark out) and my axle ripped out.

Try turning left and right while going slow what ever side you here knocking thats the one with a problem.

and thats a perfect example of why you keep the celica's speedo in the double, not tripple digits* you may be able to handle a car at that speed, im learning to also on a closed track*
************************************************************
BUT people who share the road with you are complete donkey arses most of the time!
Examples:
*itches putting on makeup wile driveing next to you and swirving in your lane
old f*cks in buicks that go 53 in the fast lane with a speedlimit of 70
sleepy truckers that dont stop to sleep, out of greed for more money
theres also cops that would love nothing more that to write you a $250+ ticket

poopra sellout... 88targa, 50trim ct, 383lsd, and shreadin tires like its my job!!!

tell me about it, im never speeding like that again

ive just come back from another run trying to find out what the problem is.

Its very hard to tell because my ride is so HARD that you feel any bump in the road

seems to only happen when doing more than 70, but i still cannot tell if its the road or my car normally!

i hope to god i have flatspotted my tires, and that it isnt a problem with the axel, im going to get it professionally look at tomorrow

The axles don't have to be bent. to make clunks. It could be a cv joint. But if that needs replacing you might as well replace the entire axle.

Had the suspension and breaks checked, everything was fine.

Checked the tires and they where chewed to bits and flatspotted.

Job Jobbed, thanks guys.

flat spotting is a good possibility

only have control arms in the back wink.gif

If you locked the tires then you could have flat spotted them, but you could also have spun a tire on the rim, making it out of balance. If you find nothing visibly bent I would try rotoating tires and see if you can make the vibration change location.
