these guys do a decent job, but they can f-ck you over in the end. I had a friend who got sponsored by raceworld.ca with his AE86. They bought him an entire J-Blood body kit, VIS carbon fiber hood, tons of cusco suspension stuff, a black top 20V 4age, momo and recaro interior parts, and sony sound system stuff..they pretty much ripped his car apart and put all this stuff in and he didnt like the shift knob they gave him, he changed it back to his old school toyota knob he had of a TE37, then changed it to a weighted KEI office knob he had. The guys from raceworld told him to take it off, so he did. then he didnt like the size of the steering wheel they gave him and switched it back to his old school toyota wheel he had. they told him his sponsership was cancled and they could do either 1 of 3 things, they take every thing out of his car they provided, they could take his car and pay him $3000 for it, or he could pay for every thing they did. So he told them he wanted his car, they took every thing they installed in it, back out and pretty much left him an empty shell of an AE. he had no suspension, no diff, no drive train, no interior besides his dashboard and front carpeting, no front bump, no rear bumper, no side skirts. He was lucky though cuz he had all of his original stuff still in his storage unit and managed to put every thing back in the car over the next 4 months. They can do you good, but can also screw you over badly. Also they usually look for a certain type of person, and a certain amount of modifications done to the car. Like the only reason my friend was sponsered was because he was a decent drifter and they needed some one for their drift section.

EDIT: best way to get sponsors is talk to local businesses. Im currently sponsored by Autotronics auto and sound, MSSC, and performance improvments. Pretty much all this means is i get cost + 10% at autotronics, i get to use the shop at MSSC when they arent to busy, and I get mechanics cost at performance improvements for free. Most of the time you need to make a $5000 first purchase order to setup and account to get this discount, but i just get the discount. Best thing to do, go into a buiness professionaly, bring them a professional looking proposal saying what you could do for them, the terms of sponsorship you are looking for and why it would be benifical for them to sponsor you. Sometimes it works, alot of the time it doesnt. But there is usually some sort of work envolved..stickers, promoting, going to events, entering car show, handing out flyers, cards, etc. Like with Autotronics, i had to hand out 250 buiness cards to people with a mark on them within 2 months and have at least 5 coustomers come in and make a purchase over $150 without tax.

It's been covered, A LOT.

Many people consider this just a clever business which uses the Fast n Furious/HIN fad where people want to be "sponsored" in order to sell stuff.
