Rome was not built in a day.... I'm slowly saving up for my clip all I know is that I'll eventually get it and no mommy and daddy do not pay for my housing so I know how it feels to lose all your money to bills.

QUOTE(Culpable04 @ Dec 5, 2007 - 6:40 PM) some people don't have as many responsabilities as you do, but some others do, it's insane to dump a whole paycheck in a car even if you don't need the money for anything else, most people here have built their cars over the years, is not a 2 months process, you just need to know what you wanna do to the car and what parts you need to acomplish that, then start buying stuff one thing at the time. Being patient is the key, cars is an expensive hobbie and is the worst wasted money ever, you don't get back the money you put on cars, but we sure have fun . actually I agree with that statement lol... Its not like a house where if you add something new to it the value goes up or whatnot. Putting so much money into a car really isn't worth it at all as far as the literal value goes... But the transformation is fun, I'll give it that. That's why I sorta regret doing all the sh*t I did to my car... Dont get me wrong I love it to death, really I do its my baby, but it was an expensive mistake. The kit is a pain in the ass, I cant drive it to certain places, its more trouble then its worth etc... Just costs of mods and everything I've done to get it the way it looks now cost me nearly close to double the amount that I actually paid for the car... Which now that I think about it, is sickening... That money could have gone to something WAY more useful. But ya know, that was when I was younger and didn't really need to think about being strict with my money. That's why my next car (which I want NOW!!!! ... but wont be getting anytime soon ) is only gonna have a few small things done like stereo system or whatever... Just general stuff for my enjoyment not this crap I did to the Celica. This post has been edited by CelicaBuddy: Dec 5, 2007 - 5:40 PM -------------------- 2003 Nissan Murano SE |

I mean i have somethings that keep me from being about to spend a lot of money to mod my car, my daughter and my wife eat my money up pretty well, bills and what have you but i know im not the only one here that has responsibilities like these. If you saw my Celi you would cry, im just now able to afford a EGR valve and a new Brights head light assembly that im hopping will allow it to pass inspection. and dont get me wrong, i love my car and would work on it ........most of the day if i could, but some of the things you guys have done are crazy. im not looking for advice, and im not bashing you all either, hell more power to yah Im just wondering how you all did it, and how much time it took for you to get to where your at now. dam shoulda got a son No no, my duaghter will be a gear head. no worries on that. Me and Panda are just waiting till she can hold a rench. I realize the time it takes for a car, and believe me, to me thats the best part about cars. Time i have, money will come here and there. But i wouldnt say its a waste of money though. If you dont love the car you drive your just like everyone else. I drive 60 miles a day to and from work on i45, i drove a Saturn for a year doing that crap and i really think that part of the dislike i had about my job was the drive. now i love driving to work because its fun. and the more mods i do the more fun it will be and the more pride i will have in the car, the hard work i put into it, and the job that made the money available to me to make my car great. so when you look at it that way its really not a waste. |

Another reason cars are different from women. I, as a woman, can attest to this. However— 1) boobies won't rust and if done correctly will far outlast a car, and 2) overmodding or putting the wrong body kit on a woman might result in the following: In the interest of keeping this family friendly, I won't even mention point 3 about the things girls can do that cars can't. But being a girl who likes girls, take my word for it. So there! Treat your women like you treat your car and you'll both be golden! <enter entirely new can of worms> LOL! </worms> -------------------- |

Unfortunately I do treat my car as I treat women. Much love, admiration, and affection. And I spend way too much money on them. So I guess my car is my mistress.

Im his pimp takin my80%! lol Honestly i got all that done within a year, but i got a loan for it (bad move #1) but for the most part it is all about taking your time and like a child, the beauty of it is watching it grow and manifest itself in what you dreamed it to be. Bad investment yeah, but like you said havoc it makes the drive worthwhile! -------------------- |
